It's amazing more of these geometrids don't get snapped up by birds - the way they stand out when at rest during the day! 

Sarcasm aside, even blown up, they are true cryptic wonders.

I come across these moths beginning in late April/early May, but I couldn't resist this shot on an August afternoon.
